Ambassadorial Scholarship

Congratulations to Caitlin Goodspeed winner
of the 2012-2013 Ambassadorial Scholarship

Caitlin Goodspeed prevailed over 3 other wonderful candidates to garner a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship for the school year 2012-13. Her choices of universities are all situated in the United Kingdom. Rotary’s top $26,000 scholarship awards students (not related directly to Rotarians) an opportunity to study anywhere in the world for one year. Candidates can designate 5 institutes of high learning, but in the end the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation make the final choice from the candidate’s list. Although Caitlin is District 5840’s designated Scholar, final approval rests with the Trustees of TRF.

More about Ambassadorial Scholarships…

The Ambassadorial Scholarships program supports the vision of The Rotary Foundation to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace.

During the study period, scholars are expected to be outstanding ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country through appearances before Rotary clubs and districts, schools, civic organizations, and other forums. After study has been completed, scholars share their experiences with the people of their home countries and Rotarians who sponsored their scholarships.
