Join the District "Cruise for a Cause" - September 1 early bird deadline!

A message from 2010-2011 District Governor Stephanie Macchia:

As captain of your Rotary ship,  please muster all hands on deck and launch your "fleet" of Rotarians for the 2011 District Conference -- Cruise for a Cause. The attached flyer sets the reservation date for August 1, and by making your personal reservation with a $25 deposit by September 1, you'll be encouraging fellow Rotarians to do the same.

As your members catch your enthusiasm, we'll be able to fill the ship and sail to:

· informative sessions

· honors, installations and awards presented by an International Rotary officer

· service above self in a joint project with our sister club in Cozumel

· fellowship with Rotarians from District 5840

· fabulous food, entertainment and tropical settings

· family vacation fun

Countdown the reasons to take the cruise!

REASON #1

The District Conference passes all four points of the Four Way Test

Is it the Truth?

YES! You have received 10 valid and indisputably convincing reasons to join the Cruise for a Cause over the past five weeks!

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

YES! Pricing is attractive -- only $25 is your deposit to hold your place, with two more payments due in 2011. There's also a liberal refund policy if you find that your plans change.

Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?

YES! When the conference is on land, participants can drift off to shopping, site seeing and other entertainment. Onboard, you'll have two days of "inevitable" fraternization, plus the great opportunity to work with Cozumel Rotarians on a service project.

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

YES! on all counts -- family fun, service above self, assistance to the residents of Cozumel, new friendships and contacts among fellow Rotarians in District 5840.

Reason #2

You'll be creating Rotary memories for a lifetime.

Reason #3

Build relationships and create stories to tell your friend back home.

You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with your fellow club members, Rotarians from District 5840 and members of the Cozumel Rotary and their families., On June 18, you can be part of one of this year's hottest travel trends: Voluntourism. As we write, committee members are looking for the perfect project that can be done within the allotted time and have the greatest impact. Make your reservation now so that you can proudly say "I helped!"

Reason #4

You'll be treating yourself and your family to the most fun you've had in a long time! How much fun? Just go to the Carnival website -- www.carnival.com -- and see for yourself. There is something going on every minute. Cozumel is known for its excellent scuba diving. The casino on the ship offers Las Vegas-like excitement. And for those of you who enjoy wearing tuxedos and ball gowns -- you can indulge your fantasies and  dress as formally as you like!

Reason #5

This is a meeting and a vacation that lets you decide how much you want to spend.

You can manage costs based on the type of cabin you choose -- from moderately priced to luxurious. The food, entertainment and ship amenities are available to all passengers, no matter what accommodations you choose. And American Express card holders can even defray the cost with American Express points. Just ask Stacy at Alamo Travel, 1-210-593-0084, for details.

Reason #6

This trip is the best Fathers' Day present you'll ever give yourself or your dad!

Fathers' Day falls on June 19 next year, and you can celebrate on the high seas with your family and masses of your best Rotary friends. If your gift last year was that same old tired tie, sleeve of golf balls or CD of Golden Oldies, you will be really pleased to add some excitement to the holiday in 2011! Just pick up the phone and punch in these numbers to make your reservation before September 1: 210-593-0084. If you prefer, click on the link and send your information to Stacy at Alamo Travel, a Rotarian-owned travel agency!

Reason #7

Your vacation will be pre-paid, and you can do it in several installments perfect for cash flow management!

Just make your $25 deposit by September 1, 2010, and budget the balance for two payments (January and April) 2011. If, for some reason you must cancel, Stacy at Alamo Travel (210-593-0084) can tell you about the the refund guidelines. She can also explain the trip insurance plans available.  Low risk/high fun: what a combination!

Reason #8

Your cruise payment is virtually all inclusive.

Conferences on land include separate pricing for the hotel and many of the associated events, meals and entertainment. With your Carnival payment, you've covered it all  for the whole family. The only extras you'll have are tips, alcoholic and some other beverages, optional excursions, parking at the dock and conference registration for the Rotarian(s) in your party. (for complete details, call Stacy at Alamo Travel, 210-593-0084.)  Speaking of registration, because so much is built into the cruise price, it's only $50 per Rotarian this year!

 Reason #9

Your cruise is scheduled in prime family vacation dates.

Can you think of a vacation that would be more fun for the whole family? The June 16 - 20 sailing was selected because by then, all the kids are out of school and ready for vacation. Earlier sailing dates were priced lower, but some Rotarians and their families would have been excluded because the kids or grandkids were still in school.

 Reason # 10

You'll be making money for Rotary.

For every cabin booked, Carnival Cruise Lines will donate $40 to the Rotary Foundation. You'll be having fun and supporting Rotary's good work around the world at the same time. What an opportunity!
