The Rotarian Magazine

What’s in the January Rotarian?

Check out the news from clubs around the globe with “World Roundup” on page 14.

Layoffs in your future?  Learn how to apply the Four Way Test in “Downsize with Dignity” on page 27.

Thinking about upgrading the master bath?  Rotary reminds us of the thousands of the people who don’t even have the basic sanitation necessities.  Read about this major health crisis in “Nowhere to Go” on page 32.

Read about a potent new polio vaccine on page 55.  Worldwide, the number of polio cases as dropped from more than 350,000 in 1988 to 1,651 in 2008.  There’s still work to do!

District Conference Registration Now Open

District Governor Reggie has something very special planned for his District Conference.  For the first time ever, multiple districts in Texas will be coming together to celebrate the end of the 2009-2010 Rotary year.  The Tejas Multi-District Conference will be held April 29—May 2, 2010 right here in San Antonio.

The Conference will include a House of Friendship, a golf outing, a mini NIOSA at La Villita, a tour of Morgan’s Wonderland and banquet.  Sessions will be held at the Convention Center.

Show your support for DG Reggie, the club and Rotary by attending this groundbreaking event.

Your fellow Rotarians from all over the great state of Texas will be coming to San Antonio.  As Rotarians of the host city, make plans to make your fellow Texans feel welcome.

Check out the District website at www.rotary5840.org and learn more about this historic conference.
