Tuskeegee Airmen...Their Story Jul 28, 2010 Guest Speaker: Lt. Gen (Ret) Russell Davis Who were the Tuskegee Airmen? The Tuskegee Airmen were dedicated, determined young men who enlisted to become America's first black military airmen. They came from every section of the country, with large numbers coming from New York City, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia & Detroit. Each one possessed a strong personal desire to serve the United States of America at the best of his ability.  View

Rick Cavender and Brain Strange. Classy, Flashy, Trashy Bash Apr 7, 2010 Rotarians looking for some pure fun participated in the Rotary Sock Hop. Party goers put on their best 50’s finery and spent the evening dancing the night away. Food drink were provided by Don Strange Catering and music was provided by the Rick Cavender Band. Proceeds from this event went to the Sam J. Riklin Rotary Diploma Plus Program, a dropout prevention program for high school seniors.  View

Museum Reach River Barge Social Mar 23, 2010 Rotarians and their family and friends enjoyed an evening of fun while cruising the new Museum Reach Expansion of the San Antonio Riverwalk. The evening started with great food at the El Tropicano Hotel and then a leisurely cruise down the river.  View

U40 2010 Class Introductions Mar 10, 2010 Each year, the Rotary Club of San Antonio recruits and develops new Rotarians under the age of 40, bringing them into the club together as a class once a year. The U40 Program helps these new members become immediately involved in the club, establish a bond with peer members and develop them into future leaders of the Rotary Club of San Antonio.  View

Kingdom for Kids VIII Oct 24, 2009 Thanks to all of you & many more who supported our Kingdom for Kids VIII at South San Filadelfia last week. You can certainly see how these projects benefit the community. We were supported by this community, by this parish, by our corporate volunteers, by our friends in food services, by our Rotarians & by City Year! When we left Saturday after the ribbon cutting ceremony, we were proud upon the completion of two state of the art play grounds & a new basketball court. Rick Cavender  View

Shadow Day Apr 4, 2007 Every year the Rotary Club of San Antonio invites high school students from SAISD to join us for Shadow Day. These select students are paired with club members who give them a glimpse of what it is like to be a lawyer, a pilot, or even a doctor. This great event is one way in which our club gives to the youth of San Antonio. Many thanks to all our students for letting us spend our morning with you!!!  View

Honduras Water Project Oct 6, 2006 Honduras Water Project committee members Jack McGuire, Jay Stanley, Diane Powell, Doug Cross traveled to Honduras to meet with fellow Rotarians in Danli, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. Everyone gained a new appreciation for the impact our water well drilling program is having on the lives of these very, very poor people. Jack said: "We are indeed fortunate to be part of a wonderful Rotary Organization and to have its’ support both locally and internationally."  View
