Ben E. Brewer III

President, 2010-2011

Dear Fellow Rotarians:

It is my great honor to have been selected to serve as your President of the Rotary Club of San Antonio for 2010-2011. I look forward to us having some fun, entertaining you with fantastic programs (thanks to Kristina Gillen and her excellent committee), and working with you to better our Club, District 5840 and the world through the efforts of fellow Rotarians in service above self! We have a dynamic, hard-working Board who truly epitomize this Rotary motto, and we assure you that this year will present some unique opportunities for you to become more involved in the community on behalf of the Club.

This year, the Rotary International theme is Building Communities, Bridging Continents, and so, in addition to our great service projects like Kingdom for Kids, the Army High School All American Bowl Dinner, Diploma Plus and the Valero Texas Open, we will be seeking your volunteer help through a new Building Communities initiative that will identify service projects in the community that we can assist with and get some good exposure for the Club’s efforts.

As noted in my dues renewal letter to you, I encourage you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Rotary International Foundation and to our own Club Foundation. Those contributions will make a difference in the many lives that the foundations touch.

We will be making a weekly donation on behalf of our program speakers to The Fund, San Antonio’s United Arts Fund which benefits 27 qualified affiliate arts organizations in our community. We will feature some of these organizations throughout the year as programs and entertainment during our luncheon meetings. I would urge ALL of you to visit The Fund’s website (www.thefund.org) to learn more about how you too can participate in support of the arts!

Thank you for your membership and involvement in the Club, and for being a Rotarian. Be sure and thank Anne and Aimee of our Rotary staff for the fantastic work that they do organizing our luncheons and keeping track of the work of all our Club committees and activities. Please also join me in thanking President David for his great leadership this past year….I will do my best to carry on in his and the other very capable President’s traditions that make this Club so special. I close in again asking for your continued support of our Club and projects as we work to make this world a better place. Feel free to contact me any time if I may be of assistance to your Rotary experience.

Yours in service above self,

Ben E. Brewer III

President 2010-2011
