Thanks for a great Centennial Luncheon!
Thank you to all our Rotarians and guests for participating in the Club’s 100th birthday celebration last Friday, November 9. The luncheon was a huge success bringing everyone together for look back at what we’ve done over the last 100 years and where we’re going in the future. President Brian called it “a big family reunion.”
If you missed it, stay tuned for details on how you can see the Centennial video of our Club’s accomplishments played during the luncheon and the video of the luncheon itself. Pictures will be on the website soon.
We’re grateful to Thomas Thorfinnson, Past RI Vice President, for coming to speak at the luncheon. Tom spoke of how our club found “the magic” in building new Rotary leaders through the U40 program. We thank District Governor Lisa Herring for leading the Four Way Test and awarding Paul Harris Fellows. We were happy to welcome Past President Louis Zbinden back to give the invocation.

Centennial Kingdom for Kids
Rick Cavendar and the Kingdom for Kids Committe is planning a very special Kingdom for Kids project in honor of the club's 100th anniversary. On November 2 and 3, Smith Elementary will receive a wonderful new play structure and landscaping and a few special surprises.
Smith Elementary, 823 S. Gevers in San Antonio, is over 100 years old. It serves 529 students. 97% of the students are economically disadvantaged and 72% are at risk.
Be a part of this Centennial service project! Volunteers can sign up through the Rotary office. As always, your donation is most appreciated to help this project be the best it can be. Download a donation form: Centennial Kingdom for Kids
