What does it truly take to reduce homelessness in San Antonio? This presentation explores the key factors driving homelessness in our community, the strategies proven to work, and how the Alliance to House Everyone, a coalition of more than 90 partner agencies, is aligning around shared goals and measurable outcomes. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of what is working, where gaps remain, and how individuals, organizations, and businesses can play a meaningful role in creating lasting change.
About Katie Wilson
Katie Wilson is the Chief Executive Officer of Close to Home, the Continuum of Care Lead Agency for San Antonio and Bexar County, and is serving her second term as Chair of the Mayorâs Housing Commission. Under her leadership, Close to Home was named Texas Homeless Networkâs Organization of the Year and a "Best Place to Work" by the San Antonio Business Journal. She led San Antonioâs House America initiative, rehousing 1,500 people in less than a year, and has helped increase HUD CoC funding by more than 50 percent, bringing more than $25 million annually into the community to address homelessness.
In 2021, she co-chaired the Housing Bond Citizen Committee, helping shape the voter-approved $150 million Affordable Housing Bond. Katie serves on the San Antonio Nonprofit Council Advocacy Committee and is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio and a 40 Under 40 honoree. A native San Antonian, she holds a Master of Public Administration from UTSA and enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.
