Support Nurturing Hope

Nurturing Hope is a two-week reconciliation and leadership program co-founded by the Rotary Club of San Antonio, Belfast (Northern Ireland), Dublin (Ireland) and the Understanding Conflict Trust (UK).

It brings together people of different politics, ages, faiths, and nations to learn civil discourse, mediation and practical peace skills.

The Nurturing Hope Summer Peace Journey unfolds at the renowned Corrymeela Peace Campus on Ireland’s northern-most coast—Corrymeela has served as Northern Ireland’s living laboratory of reconciliation for nearly 60 years.

You’re Invited

All are welcomed. Since 2022, hundreds of participants—ages 18 to 85, from 17 nations—have journeyed to Northern Ireland to experience Nurturing Hope. And each summer 25 San Antonio students, faculty, and Rotarians travel to Corrymeela to grow their reconciliation and mediation skills.

Global Reach

Nurturing Hope began in Northern Ireland and is spreading:

• San Antonio, Texas – Local universities (UTSA, St. Mary’s, Alamo Colleges) and the Peace Center run Nurturing Hope San Antonio, where students lead citywide conversations on peace.
• The Hague, Netherlands – Dutch Rotarians and partners are adapting the program to their context, drawing from San Antonio and Northern Ireland.
• Global Curriculum: Nurturing Hope texts are provided in English, Spanish, and Korean.
