Overview
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to one simple but powerful mission: ensuring that no child has to sleep on the floor. With local chapters across the United States, SHP brings together volunteers, donors, and community partners to build and deliver handmade bunk beds to children and families in need. Each bed is delivered with a new mattress, pillows, and bedding, offering not just a comfortable place to sleep but also a sense of dignity, stability, and care.
At our Rotary Club, we are proud to support and participate in SHP’s mission through periodic service projects. Several times a year, our members come together to assist with the building and delivery of beds, working hand-in-hand with SHP volunteers to provide immediate and meaningful impact to children in our local community. These hands-on service days not only allow us to live out Rotary’s values of service above self, but also create lasting memories and connections with the families we help. Our partnership with SHP exemplifies the power of collaboration to make a tangible difference—one bed, one child, and one good night’s sleep at a time.
