Rotary Club of San Antonio Honors Four Members at Annual Awards Presentation

At today’s Rotary Club luncheon, President Steve Darling honored four outstanding members whose service, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the club this year.
The Service Above Self Award was presented to two members. Rachel Castro was recognized for her behind-the-scenes efforts with club programs and for warmly welcoming guests at the door—an embodiment of Rotary hospitality. Although she had to leave before receiving her award, her contributions were warmly acknowledged.
The second honoree, Shelby Payne-Drayton, was praised for her calm and organized leadership, particularly in membership development and volunteer coordination. Her positive attitude and reliability have made her a valued young leader in the club.
The Rising Star Award went to Nick Warrington, a transplant from the Dayton, Ohio Rotary Club. Nick has played a pivotal role in planning social events and organizing volunteers while serving on the Young Members Board—and will continue to do so next year. Despite his demanding professional role in fundraising at UT Austin, Nick has shown exceptional commitment to Rotary service.
Finally, the club’s highest honor, Rotarian of the Year, was awarded to Mark Figart, in part acknowledging his generous donation and ongoing stewardship of the club’s new website. A former Rotary Club president in Boerne, Mark brings not only professional expertise but also deep Rotary experience and friendship to the club. His contributions have significantly strengthened the club’s digital presence and communications.
Congratulations to all four honorees for their outstanding contributions and commitment to the Rotary motto: Service Above Self.
