Giving in Action: Nearly $20,000 Raised for Rotary Service Projects Though Light the World Campaign

The Rotary Club of San Antonio was honored to join community partners on April 7 at Pearl Plaza for the Light the World Giving Machines check presentation press conferenceâa meaningful moment to reflect on the generosity of our city and the impact made possible through this special campaign.
Each holiday season, the Light the World Giving Machines are installed at the Pearl for a three-week campaign, offering a unique and accessible way for individuals to give back. These âreverse vending machinesâ allow visitors to purchase meaningful donationsâsuch as meals, clothing, vaccines, toys, hygiene kits, and moreâfor those in need. With items ranging from $1 to $250, 100% of every donation goes directly to participating nonprofits, creating a powerful opportunity for collective giving.
As a featured nonprofit, the Rotary Club of San Antonio is deeply grateful to have been part of this effort. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Rotary Club of San Antonio raised $19,063 to directly support our local service initiatives.
These contributions will make a tangible difference. Donations will provide 1,146 polio vaccines, supporting Rotaryâs ongoing work to eradicate polio worldwide. They will also fund 715 holiday gifts for families, 171 playground items for children, $2,900 in college savings to support future educational opportunities, and $1,300 for community cleanup projects that help keep San Antonio's neighborhoods and waterways strong and vibrant.
Participating in the Light the World campaign was a meaningful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared spirit of generosity. The Rotary Club of San Antonio is proud to have been part of this initiative and grateful for the many individuals who chose to give in ways that will create lasting impact.
