Youth Scholarships

Norman Vestal was a tireless supporter of young men and women from our community who demonstrated an interest in Agriculture. He worked as a County Agent for the Texas Agriculture Extension office for over 30 years and was awarded County Agent Emeritus by the Texas A&M Board of Regents upon his retirement.

To honor Mr. Vestal’s commitment to Rotary and his support of future agriculture leaders, this scholarship was started in 2002.

DEADLINE

March 28, 2025

ELIGIBILITY

1. Enrolled in a high school in Bexar County and classified as a Senior during the 2024-2025 school year.
2. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
3. Cannot be the child or grandchild of a Rotarian.
4. Must plan on attending college during the 2025-2026 academic year at an accredited college or university.
5. Must be pursuing a degree in Agri-Life (to include Agri-Business)

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

The Rotary Club of San Antonio will grant five $500 scholarships to area graduating high school seniors from Bexar County who plan to pursue a career in Agri-life (to include Agri-business).

In order to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit the following information:

• Unofficial School Transcript – Must include class rank and size
• Copy of ACT or SAT Scores
• Two Letters of Recommendation – Letters must be on organization/school letterhead and be signed.
• Letter 1 – Individual familiar with your agriculture involvement.
• Letter 2 – Individual familiar with your community service activities (not to include agriculture involvement)
