Applications for the 2024-25 Academic Year 

The Rotary Club of San Antonio is accepting YEF scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Eligibility

  • Currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Fulltime resident of South Texas
  • Classified as an undergraduate/graduate during the 2023-24 school year. High school seniors who are enrolled in a dual credit program are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Enrolled in full-time study during the 2024-25 academic year.

 Amount of Scholarship

Scholarships in the amount of $500 to $2,000 will be awarded.

The award will be made payable to the college/university of choice and will be mailed directly to the college/university once proof of enrollment for the 2024-25 school year has been received by the Rotary office.

Character / Leadership / Service / Financial Need / Scholastic Ability

General Information and Instructions

  • Scholarships must be applied for on an annual basis.
  • There is no limit to the number of years a person may apply.
  • No special consideration will be given to previous winners.
  • Recipients of the scholarships will be chosen annually.
  • A Rotarian or a dependent child, stepchild or grandchild of a Rotarian and their spouse are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • The following files/documents must be included with your application:
  1. Your most current FAFSA or TAFSA.
  2. An essay of 500 words describing how you plan to give back to the San Antonio / Bexar county community after graduation.
  3. A letter of recommendation from a professor. (Letter must be on school letterhead.)
  4. Unofficial Transcript from your College / University.

2020-2021 Awards

In June 2021, the committee awarded a total of $11,500 to 10 recipients.  

Recipients will be pursuing degrees in nursing, education, sociology, pharmacology, engineering, finance, biology, political science, agriculture science and teaching.
